Delegates from Developing Nations

ICIAM 2011 is committed to maximizing participation by delegates from developing nations. Towards this, the organizers have established a subsidy program intended to partially offset registration fees, travel costs and dorm-style accommodations for delegates from these countries. Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek additional funding wherever possible and evidence of solicitation of other support may be a criteria in awarding travel subsidies.

Priority will be given to students and speakers traveling from least developed or developing nations who are undertaking research in which mathematics plays a central role. Reimbursements are at the sole discretion of ICIAM Congress organizers. There is some flexibility in how subsidies are awarded: Registration fees can be waived, or travel and accommodation expenses can be reimbursed after the Congress. The maximum allowance per delegate is $1500 (Canadian).

Delegates seeking travel subsidies must complete the online form. Applicants will be notified in February 2011 of any financial support awarded.

The deadline to apply was January 15, 2011.
